Construction Trades – Carpentry

Description: Construction students gain familiarity with all aspects of building commercial and residential structures. Through classroom instruction and laboratory experience, students acquire hands-on training in estimating, layout, footing and foundation, platform construction, framing, roofing, sidings, insulation, exterior finish, window and door installation, and stair building. Students also learn to construct brick and block walls; identify and mix mortar; mix and finish concrete.  During each school year, students construct one home in Prosser’s Builders’ Ridge subdivision to be sold on the open real estate market.

Credit Hours – 3 Credits per Semester


Dual Credits: Ivy Tech Noblesville (44)

First Year Credits – BCTI 100, BCTI 101 = 6 Potential Dual Credits

Second Year Credits – BCTI 102, BCTI 280 = 3 Potential Dual Credits

Certifications: NCCER Core, Carpentry Level 1, Carpentry Level 2
