Fire Rescue & EMT


Description: Fire and Rescue students will focus on all aspects of Fire Science in the first year curriculum. This will include firefighters’ safety and health, fire control and behavior, rescue equipment, and hazardous materials. The second year curriculum will include pre-hospital care, medication identification, and ambulance operations. Students completing the second year curriculum will be prepared to test for a Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.

First Year Credits – HSPS 102, 122, 167, 165 = 12 Potential Dual Credits

Second Year Credits – PARM 102 = 10.5 Potential Dual Credits

Certifications: Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazmat A, EMT (May test at 18 years of age)
